Autumn Cranberry-Maca Vitamin Smoothie (Banana Free)

In the cold and windy autumn, a regular intake of vitamins is especially important to properly and joyfully prepare for the winter season. Talented food photographer Amalija Andersone always thinks about taking in a good amount of vitamins and in this blog post shares an original smoothie recipe that is unlike any other you have ever enjoyed.

Amalija believes that this is the perfect fall smoothie to enjoy together with delicious almond biscuits as the leaves behind the window begin to disappear completely. The smoothie is very healthy for the body and full of vitamins. The cranberries not only give the smoothie a pleasantly sour taste but also contain a lot of vitamins and minerals needed for human health. Kale is also a great plant, as it grows in the garden until the first snow and is a true vitamin-rich super vegetable full of iron, calcium, vitamin K, A and C.

And of course, the king of the smoothie: maca root powder, which helps to deal with stress, restores after exercising and improves the body's overall health.

This smoothie recipe also differs from the usual because it does not contain bananas. The sweetness of the cocktail is given by the maca powder and plant milk, but the creamy texture is from the avocado.

Ingredients

makes 2 portions 

  • 2 large handful of cranberries
  • 1 handful of rowan berries
  • kale
  • 1 avocado
  • 2 cups of plant milk
  • sweetener of choice
  • 1 tablespoon of linseed oil
  • 1 teaspoon of maca root powder

Method

The cooking process, as with any smoothie, is very simple. All prepared ingredients blend together until a pleasant, enjoyable texture is obtained.
