Amalia enjoys how easy it is to treat yourself healthily, and that not everything that looks sinful really is. In the dessert hides various valuable sources of vitamins, such as sea buckthorn, which help improving immunity, and the Latvian super vegetable - the king of the autumn garden - pumpkin. Pumpkin in smoothies is the best when added fresh to keep as many vitamins as possible.

The smoothie is enriched with turmeric and ginger. They are very powerful herbs and protect against many different diseases. In the smoothie, they will enhance the sunny colour, taste nuance and the health effect on the body. An important ingredient is also the maca root powder, which helps in the fight against stress, restores after heavy physical activity and improves the general condition of the body. The maca root powder ads the sweetness as the smoothie does not contain bananas.

Ingredients

makes 2 portions

  • 200 ml sea buckthorn juice (blend 4 handfuls of fresh or frozen sea buckthorn with a little water and strain)
  • 2 handfuls of finely sliced fresh pumpkin
  • ½ teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • a pinch of black pepper
  • a small piece of fresh ginger root
  • 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
  • 1 cup of plant milk
  • 2 teaspoons of maca root powder
  • 2 tablespoons sweetener of choice
  • plant milk whipped cream (@minimalistbaker has a great recipe for coconut whipped cream)
  • sea buckthorn biscuits 

Method

The cooking process, as with any smoothie, is very simple. Blend together all prepared ingredients until a pleasant, enjoyable texture is obtained.
